Good or bad healthcare system

it's really not that easy to answer whether the current healthcare system, in its current form, is good or bad.

for one, it depends a lot on how much and how often you actually need it. that has a significant influence on how you end up judging it.

for people who only go to the doctor once in a while, who rarely have to deal with health insurance companies, the healthcare system has probably held up pretty well over the years.

it looks different for those who actually depend on it. and that's where it gets tricky. there are without a doubt incredibly good doctors and clinics here in germany. but they get buried under a mountain of bureaucracy and regulations. and even here it depends on which area of the healthcare system you need.

from the perspective of a caregiving father, it's not that simple either. i could tell an endless number of stories that make you grab your head in disbelief. but it's also true that for chronic conditions, you actually get really good and lasting support.

what really gets to me and wears me down is having to justify, over and over again, why the illness is still there and why you need this or that piece of equipment.

yes, it costs money. an unbelievable amount of money. and it puts a hole in the overall calculation. but everyone who needs that help would gladly give up all of that support if it meant being healthy again instead.

no matter in which situation you are currently in; continue fighting for your rights. it can be hard but no one else would do it for you. so keep strong and stay healthy.
